Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant – Skilled Nursing Facility

Do you want to make an Impact? Enjoy working with the Geriatric population? Do you enjoy training others? We are seeking to hire a Regional Supervisor Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our team to provide medical care and training within a skilled nursing facility.

This position will be a combination of managing, training/onboarding other NPs/PAs, as well as providing care within a facility during the weeks when not onboarding anyone .

Must be willing to work/travel as needed to all facilities within the Brooklyn, NY and Queens, NY area.(only 1 facility per day)

No On-Call requirement

Responsibilities:

Perform training to Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants in a Nursing home setting.

Perform routine check-ups to patients to assess their health condition and discover possible issues.Conduct examinations on acute changes in condition.Communicate with resident families or appointed representative regarding resident status.Manage and prescribe pharmaceuticals.Collaborate with providers, DON/ADON, nursing staff, support staff, and administration with a goal of improved patient care.Consult and utilize specialty services as required to provide comprehensive care to residents.

Requirements:

  • Medical degree from accredited program.
  • Board certified in field of practice.
  • Active NY license to practice in field.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Strong understanding of examination methodologies and diagnostics.
  • Broad knowledge of common medication, side effects and contraindications.
  • In-depth knowledge of legal medical guidelines and medicine best practices.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Compassionate and approachable.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $175,000.00 – $180,000.00 per year
